1957-2024

Timothy Allen Tanis, 66, passed into eternal life Feb. 21, at his home in Azle after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Tim was born May 15, 1957, in Holland, Michigan.

Tim graduated from Azle High School in 1976. He embodied the virtues of hard work and commitment through his 40-year journey as a master craftsman of woodwork.

Tim was a man of the earth and open skies, bow hunter extraordinaire, and fantasy football aficionado who also loved camping with his family on vacations. He carved out a life filled with humor, love and a heart as solid as oak. His laughter was infectious to all who knew him and his dedication to family was the glue that held them together strong and unbreakable.

He was a favorite uncle to all his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed celebrating the holidays with his children and grandchildren, making them magical and full of wonder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia and Fred Prince, and brother, Freddy Prince.

Tim is survived by his daughter Samantha Tanis; son Ryan Tanis and wife Jane O’Grady; goddaughter Nichole Brantley; granddaughters Emma and Ellie Betts; mother of his children Michelle Nobles Tanis; brothers Robert Tanis and Bill Prince; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim leaves behind a legacy of life characterized by integrity, humor and the undying love of a father, brother and friend.
