Splash pad opens May 20

AZLE — It’s time to make a splash at Azle Central Park.

The Central Park’s splash pad will open for the 2024 season Monday, May 20, and will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., starting after 1 p.m. on the opening day. Free for the public, this splash pad in Azle offers multiple spray features, providing a fun and safe environment for kids to cool off during hot summer days.

The attraction first opened Sept. 3, 2022, Labor Day weekend. Azle city council members and the mayor attended a grand opening ceremony welcoming the community to the new feature at the park, which is near the playground and adjacent to what was, at the time, a new restroom facility. After reviewing results from a 2021 Community Interest Survey submitted by community members, the Azle City Council approved the funding of the city’s first splash pad in Azle. A splash pad was ranked as one of the top three priorities as a park need. The 2,200 square-foot splash pad features a variety of sprayers, spilling buckets, fountain sprays and water cannons. The splash pad is user activated, with a recirculating system built on a concrete slab featuring a safe “zero depth play area.” Vortex Aquatic Play Solutions was the contractor on the project.
