Marjorie Estella Bartosovsky 1931-2024

Marjorie Estella Bartosovsky, age 93, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed from this life Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in Azle. She was born in rural Apache, Oklahoma April 9, 1931, to Guy and Vesta (Green) Thompson and attended Apache schools.

Marjorie married the love of her life, Bobby Dean Bartosovsky Sept. 2, 1950. Married almost 66 years, they were an example of a Christlike marriage for their family and friends. Throughout their marriage they lived in Anadarko, Geronimo, Tulsa, Minco and Hollis, Oklahoma. After Bobby retired from the ministry, they moved to Azle, where Marjorie has resided for the last 27 years.

Marjorie found great satisfaction in being a mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress and baker and enjoyed various women’s groups. She loved music and singing, especially Gospel music. She was an active member of First Assembly of God Church and was known for her service to her church. During her lifetime she served as a Sunday School teacher, VBS director and teacher, choir director, choir member, youth choir director, Women’s Ministry president and in many other capacities in addition to being a pastor’s wife.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Bartosovsky, parents Guy and Vesta Thompson, brother Carl Thompson, sister Lorene Freeman, and daughter Sandra McDowell.

Survivors include son Gary Bartosovsky of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter Debi Meyerhoeffer and husband Kent of Azle; grandchildren Danny McDowell and wife Kelly, Meg Arnold and husband Scott, Meryl Crimmins and husband Will, Andy Bartosovsky and wife Rae, and Angela Adams and husband Jason; great-grandchildren Blake and Seth McDowell, Reed and Chase Arnold, Quinn and Liam Crimmins, and Aaron, Shae, Sequoia and Luna Adams. She is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Dalrymple of Lawton, Oklahoma, a brother Paul Thompson of El Reno, Oklahoma and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.

A service to honor Marjorie’s life was held Tuesday, July 16, at 11 a.m. at Azle First Assembly of God Church in Azle.
