AZLE —Azle High School 1991 graduate Damon Bethurum was appointed to Place 7 of the Azle Crime Control and Prevention District board of directors at a Sept. 3 Azle City Council meeting. The council voted unanimously to appoint Bethurum after he filed an application for several potential board positions within the city.
Bethurum worked on the Azle Planning and Zoning Commission in the past and has recently returned to the city, looking for new ways to get involved. During the meeting Bethurum said his vision for the future consisted of finding the opportunities that come as the city changes and grows.
“My experience serving on the zoning boards in the past has honed my ability to lead initiatives,” Bethurum wrote in his application. “I am particularly drawn to this position because of my commitment to the city of Azle which has been my home for over 30 years, and I am eager to contribute my skills and insights to help achieve its goals.”
