Raymond "Allen" Lundgren

1962–2024

Allen Lundgren, 61, of East Bernard, passed away peacefully Monday, April 8, 2024, at home.

He was born July 6, 1961, in Ocean Port, New Jersey at Fort Monmouth Army base to the late Larry and Jean Lundgren.

Allen grew up in Azle and graduated from Azle High School with the class of 1980. He worked and put himself through college at UT Austin, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in physics in 2002 and later a master’s degree in education from Montana State.

He was so smart in so many things, but he loved to continue to learn and teach others along the way. He worked in the computer field at Flood Data in Austin, then started his own network business. He relocated to Montana to be a teacher of physics and math at Two Eagle River School of the Confederated Salish; Kootenai Tribes. Here he was able to mentor countless students while guiding them toward their fullest potential; many students said he made school fun and interesting. One commented, "He would remind me that I could go farther in life if I wanted to."

He loved all things science, space, computers and all types of outdoor adventures. He loved to camp, hike and swim, and enjoyed these adventures with many of his family members throughout the years. Allen was a beacon of light in the lives of those that knew him. His smile, laughter and loudness brought us all a lot of joy.

Climbing the mountains of Montana, diving the waters of Belize, nothing compares to you, Lord, when you bring us to our knees. Allen gave his life to the Lord before his death. The day of the solar eclipse, Allen met the Creator of the creations he loved.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Patricia Lundgren; beloved special children, Melanie, Misty and Michael; grandsons, Gabe and Mason; sister, Diane Roberts and husband Clinton; brother, Gary Lundgren and wife Jolene; nieces and nephews Heather, Hollie, Morgan and Logan; the Sisk family; along with many other family and friends; and his beloved pet, Thor.
