LAKE WORTH — The Lake Worth Independent School District board of trustees honored and recognized transportation manager Angela Wallace Sept. 16 for providing transportation of students across Lake Worth ISD.

Chief Financial Officer Trent Dowd spoke of Wallace’s important role in getting students to class, field trips and extracurricular activities. Dowd also explained how Wallace creates the safest routes for buses when transporting students anywhere.

Dowd complemented Wallace for being a leader in her department and for setting a good example.

“She’s an incredible problem solver, because if you’ve ever seen a bus transportation route map, you better be good at puzzles,” Dowd said. “She is a strong leader for her department, she leads by example, she always has a positive attitude and routinely models for her staff what quality looks like in transportation.”

Dowd went on to say he enjoys working with Wallace and that her work is important for students.

“She understands that her department is a key support for kids learning,” Dowd said. “She knows that what she does is important to support kids in performing and again changing outcomes for students. I think she does a fantastic job; I enjoy working with her.”

School Board President Armando Velazquez, Dowd and Superintendent Rose Mary Neshyba presented the certificate to Wallace.
