AZLE — Roads leading to Azle are expected to see closures starting in the new year. Texas Department of Transportation crews are scheduled to begin work reclaiming and overlaying portions of the State Highway 199 service roads, also known as Northwest Parkway and Southeast Parkway, the Stewart Street bridge and Spur 344 bridge, colloquially known as the “Ski Jump.” The estimated project time frame is Jan. 5–24, weather permitting.
The project will have day and night work beginning Jan. 5 with nighttime operations for State Highway 199 westbound service road north of Denver Trail. The project will be done in sections, continuously to completion. The schedule is subject to change, barring any potential impacts, major weather or unforeseen events. Night work hours are 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. from Jan. 5-19. Daytime work hours will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Jan. 13-24.
Due to the upcoming cold snap, TxDOT has elected to delay the start of this project until Jan. 12.
