The victim in the incident was transported to a Fort Worth hospital by air ambulance with life-threatening injuries and he remained in critical condition as of Monday afternoon.

With assistance from Weatherford PD, Springtown police officers arrested Aaron Phillip Turner, 24, of Weatherford late Monday afternoon. Turner was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and book into the Parker County jail. No bond has been set at this time.

The incident occurred Feb. 1 in the 1100 block of Farm-to-Market Road 51 (Main Street) when a pedestrian was struck by a truck.

At approximately 4:21 p.m. Feb. 1, Springtown police, along with other emergency personnel, responded to reports of an auto vs. pedestrian accident on North Main Street near Old Cottondale Road. Upon officers’ arrival, witnesses said two male subjects were allegedly involved in a physical altercation while driving and both of them pulled over.

The suspect is alleged to have broken off the rearview mirror of the victim’s vehicle at which time a physical altercation ensued. According to multiple witness statements, at a point during the altercation, the suspect returned to his vehicle and began to drive away, striking and possibly dragging the victim in the process.

The suspect fled and did not return to the scene. The photos included are from various security cameras which captured the suspect’s vehicle after he fled the scene.

The suspect’s vehicle was described as a newer model four-door Chevrolet pickup, believed to be a Silverado, teal in color with a black grill guard. Security camera photos of the vehicle show it also had a camper shell installed. FM 51 was closed from both directions for about one hour following the auto incident.
