Dear God, today we give you Maxie Louise Beard Fair, age 79, of Azle, after a brief battle with cancer.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Biggers Funeral Home. A funeral service is slated for 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12 in Biggers Funeral Chapel.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Maxie was known for her talents as a seamstress, cook, decorator and crafter, and she was a passionate sports fan. Her greatest joy came from playing games and traveling with her family. Maxie welcomed everyone into her home, treating all guests as family.
Maxie's loving spirit, kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Please keep her safe until we meet her again. She is loved and will be missed by many.
Maxie is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Lee and Flora Irene Beard; her sister, Roxine Carter; her brother, Paul (Butch) Beard; and her Uncle TA and Aunt Joy, with whom she spent cherished summers.
She leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Curtis Fair; her sons, Mike Simpson and his fiancée Shana, Chris Simpson and his wife Jodi, and James Fair and his wife Alysa; her daughter, Susan Crutchfield and her husband Brian. Maxie was a proud grandmother to Justin Simpson and his wife Jami, Ally Simpson, Ethan Fair, Nathan and Knox Crutchfield, and great-grandmother to Laci and Bryson Clark. She is also survived by her sisters, Aleta Fair and her husband Richard, Nancy Beard, and Darnell Andrews, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
