LAKE WORTH — Lake Worth ISD board of trustees has new board member after Cindy Burt won Place 7 over incumbent Chris Thomas.
Burt won the seat by 388 votes, receiving 1,887 votes, compared with Thomas who had 1,499 votes. Cristina Gallagher, who ran unopposed, won Place 6.
Lake Worth ISD Board President Armando Velazquez congratulated Burt and thanked Thomas for his years of service to Lake Worth ISD.
“On behalf of the Lake Worth ISD board of trustees, we would like to congratulate our newly elected board member Cindy Burt and welcome back Cristina Gallagher, who ran unopposed,” Velazquez said. “We look forward to their contributions and perspectives as we strive to positively impact the district. I would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to Chris Thomas for his dedication and service to Lake Worth ISD. His commitment to our community is unwavering and his contributions through board service have left a lasting impact on our district.”
President Velazquez said he is dedicated to working as a team with the board and strives for success within the schools and community.
