We lost a very special man Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, John Joseph Myers.
The family will hold a private celebration of life.
John was born in Guymon, Oklahoma Feb. 15, 1954. He graduated from Eufaula High School in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He moved to Texas and became a backhoe operator for his uncle Leroy Kirbie. John started his own business, which is now his son’s, Myers Construction. He was a huge OU fan.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Gordon Myers, and sister, Louella Cantrell.
John is survived by his wife, Melody Stumbo Myers; son Michael Joseph Myers and wife Tammy of Azle; daughter Vanessa Hitt and husband Bryan of Azle; brothers Alton Myers of Washington, James “Boone” Myers of Oklahoma and Matthew Myers of Azle; sister Susie Copenhaver of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; six grandchildren and one great-grandson. He also left many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to express its gratitude to the doctors and staff at Baylor Scott and White ICU unit for the unending care of John and his family.
