AZLE — Nonprofit Save Eagle Mountain Lake held its annual Christmas Parade of Lights the evening of Nov. 30. Due to lower lake levels, SEML devised an alternative route beginning at Fort Worth Boat Club and proceeding toward the Azle side of the lake. Participating boats and other water vehicles lined up for the enjoyment of spectators with their decks decked out in lights and regalia.
"We're excited to kick-off the holidays with this cherished tradition," SEML President Cary Lewis said. “The Parade of Lights is a testament to the spirit of Eagle Mountain Lake, and we're thrilled to offer a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, despite the lower water levels."
SEML also partnered with The Lakehouse restaurant at 9307 Boat Club Road, Fort Worth to create a winter wonderland following the event. The Tarrant Regional Water District opened up key points, such as Twin Points Park.
