Carolyn B. Thompson, 88, passed away Monday, July 22, 2024 in Azle.
A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 31, at Azle First Assembly of God, 1020 Southeast Parkway, Azle TX 76020.
Carolyn was born Oct. 1, 1935, in Los Angeles, California to Asaph and Virginia Blaskowsky. She was the third of eight children and grew up with her parents and siblings in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. She married George Burke Lutman Dec. 1, 1953, and had five children with him.
She and George moved to Azle in 1980 and joined the First Assembly of God congregation there. Carolyn was very active in her church, answering phones and taking prayer requests two to three days a week. She was known as a prayer warrior, and many in the church looked to her as a surrogate mom.
Carolyn is survived by a sister, Eleanor Koonce; three children, Kathy McLemore, Patti Hoyle and Curt Lutman; two sons-in-law, Pat McLemore and John Hoyle; seven grandchildren: Frances, Randall, Charity, Patrick, Bryan, Ashley and Joseph; seven great-grandchildren; and multitudes of nieces and nephews and their children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her second husband, KW; her sons, Richard and Ronnie; and her siblings, Wanda, Lorraine. Charles Leroy, Ruby, Louise and Loyd.
