Car fire on Commerce

Posted

AZLE — The right lane of Commerce Street, near the intersection of Boyd Road, was closed off Tuesday, Jan. 21 just after 10 a.m., when an older model Ford Ranger pickup caught fire. The Azle Police Department and firefighters used their vehicles to block the streets, and officers directed traffic on Boyd while the flames were subdued. The truck’s owner said the vehicle was so old he was unable to get insurance on it. He suspects the fire started as a result of his jury-rigged battery charging system which he used after his alternator broke.
