During a Nov. 19 Azle City Council meeting, Azle Animal Shelter staff were presented with a proclamation recognizing National Animal Shelter Week, the first full week of November, in the city of Azle.
“They do an awesome job,” Mayor Alan Brundrett said. “All these people up here, they obviously don't do it for money. They do it because they love the animals, they love helping the animals and helping people. They have a large volunteer base. They wouldn't be able to do it without the volunteers.”
The mayor congratulated staff on being able to remain a no-kill shelter.
