AZLE — Azle High School’s Wind Ensemble and choir will perform a benefit concert for Veterans Day, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the AHS auditorium. The event is free for veterans. Tickets are $10 for adults or $5 for students. All proceeds will go to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association. Tickets may be purchased at the door on the evening of the performance or online at checkout.square.site/buy/IYL2EBNSG6UDKCLAPKGQQOMH or at the provided QR code.
“The event came about as a desire for us to give back to our community,” head band director Greg Davis said in an email to the Tri-County Reporter. “The Azle Band regularly conducts fundraisers, and I felt that it was important for us to give back to people who have sacrificed so much. We decided to support the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association because we have a parent involved with the organization who was able to get us in contact with people to help make the partnership happen. We reached out to several organizations and CVMA was enthusiastic in their response and willingness to partner with us.”
Davis said the selection of songs chosen represent a proper balance of traditional patriotic tunes honoring those who have served as well as the specific songs of the armed forces.
