AZLE — Now, a red solo cup is the best receptacle for barbecues, tailgates, fairs and festivals, and the Azle Education Foundation hopes to host a spectacle when it celebrates the 13th annual Red Solo Cup BBQ Bash Jan. 25, to raise money for teachers and students around the district. The event, which will be held at The Orchard Event Venue at 1421 Northwest Parkway from 7–11 p.m., will feature food, dancing and a live auction for a variety of exciting items and opportunities.

The AEF provides scholarships, teacher grants, campus grants and new teacher gift cards to the tune of about $80,000 most years. AEF Event Chair Meg Arnold has been a part of the organization since 2017 and cannot wait for the fun and funding that comes with the event. Last year’s Red Solo Cup was a big hit and managed to sell about 275 seats.

Every year the table centerpieces are made by the AHS floral design classes, and the desserts are made by the AHS culinary students. Many of the auction items are unique to Azle ISD such as the football skybox or reserved parking, and this is your only chance to purchase them, Arnold said. Individual tickets may be purchased for $50 each.

“Mark your calendars now for Jan. 25, and make your reservations early,” the district urged in an article released to its website. “This quickly becomes a ‘SOLD OUT’ event!”
